Along with the initial consultation, your pediatrician will be able to schedule follow-up appointments for further evaluation and care. If necessary, your pediatrician may refer your child to a mental health practitioner. Psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and social workers can all provide a diagnosis and treatment to address your child's issues. They can also set up regular follow-up appointments to support your child and monitor changes in their mental state/behavior.
